My blog is officially two months old, and I couldn’t be more excited to be writing my very first blog income report!

Years ago, when I first learned about blogging, income reports were one of my favorite things to read.

I loved getting a behind-the-scenes look at the blogging world and seeing what kind of income was possible with having a blog!

And after dreaming about blogging for years, I can finally say… My blog made money!

This isn’t one of those “I made $7,596 in one month blogging part-time” posts. This is a realistic blog income report from someone new to blogging, meant to show you real numbers and inspire you to go after it if it’s something you’ve always dreamt of!

In this post, I’m sharing exactly how much my blog made in its second month, where that income came from, the expenses that go into running a blog, and what I’m learning as I build this from the ground up.

Let’s dive in!

My Blogging Journey

I actually started my first blog, The Butcher Stop Co., back in January 2020. But when the pandemic hit shortly after, everything shifted. I wasn’t sure what to write about anymore, and eventually, I walked away from the blog and my dreams for it.

But the thought of having my own blog never left…

In 2023, my husband and I started our debt free journey after finding our home in pre-foreclosure and by May of 2024, we had paid off all of our debts besides our home! (Over $30,000 paid off!)

Because of this, I felt comfortable investing in myself, my business, and my blog. And I knew I wanted a lifestyle blog that spoke about personal finance, personal development, and helping people create lives they love.

Over the next two years, I built a budgeting course (which I’ll talk more about later), and on December 1st, 2025, It’s Erin Ashley officially launched!

Now that you have a little background on the journey, let’s move onto my blog income report!

How Bloggers Make Money

Before diving into my own income report, we need to go over the many ways that bloggers can make money with their blogs. Most successful blogs I’ve researched use a mix of these income streams below to diversify and grow their income over time.

  • Affiliate Marketing – Bloggers earn a commission by recommending products or services you already use and love.
  • Digital Products – Selling their own products, such as courses, templates, guides, or downloads.
  • Display Ads – Earning money from ads placed on their site. The higher traffic you have, the more you can make!
  • Sponsored Content – Partnering with brands to create paid blog posts or promotions.
  • Services or Coaching – Offering one-on-one services, consulting, or coaching related to their expertise.

Right now, my blog is focused on two of these income streams, which is exactly how I made money this month.

Let’s get into my blog income report!

My First Blog Income Report

Since launching my blog on December 1, 2025, I’ve made a total of $27.14.

It’s not a huge amount, but that’s okay! Making money in my first two months of blogging is such a huge milestone and I’m proud no matter what the amount is!

This income came from digital products and affiliate marketing, which I’ll break down below.

Digital Products Blog Income Report

Beginner’s Budget Blueprint

When I launched It’s Erin Ashley, I also launched my first digital product, a course called Beginner’s Budget Blueprint. I also launched another digital product and got sales on each!

This course is designed to help people:

  • Overcome limiting money mindsets
  • Organize their finances
  • Create a personalized budget that actually fits their life
  • Build a strong foundation to transform their finances long-term

I spent nearly two years building this course, and launching it alongside my blog meant so much to me!

On January 1st, I made my very first sale. And I will not lie… I was at a coffee shop when I got the notification and I cried like a baby. The other customers probably thought I was crazy, haha.

Starting the year with my first sale made the moment feel even more special and made me feel like this year was going to be so successful with my blog and life in general.

The course is priced at $24, and after platform fees, I earned $22.96 from that sale!

Right now, there’s still a lot I want to improve on the backend—things like email sequences and sales pages to help increase conversions. For this stage, though, my main focus is learning what works, what doesn’t, and continuing to build my traffic sources!

Life Audit Blueprint

At the beginning of the year, I also launched my second digital product, the Life Audit Blueprint. I created this workbook to pair with my Life Audit blog post.

Blog Post: The Life Audit You Need For A Powerful New Year Reset

The Life Audit Blueprint is a guided digital workbook designed to help people:

  • Reflect on the past year
  • Assess their current reality
  • Visualize what they want out of their life and future
  • Create a vision board
  • Set clear goals and build an actionable plan to achieve them

On January 4th, I sold one Life Audit Blueprint!

The workbook is priced at $4.44, and after platform fees, I earned $4.01 from that sale!

This sale was encouraging to me because I made the product so quickly (compared to two years) and it was successful!

Affiliate Marketing Income Report

I also earned my very first affiliate commission this month through Amazon Associates!

Affiliate income: $0.17

I’m gonna be honest, this purchase came from a family member using my link.

While the amount is small, I still wanted to include it here because I do want to focus on it more in the future and hope it becomes a bigger income source for me, even though it has always felt a little challenging.

Blog Traffic And Sources

Before moving on, I want to share my blog traffic for this period, because traffic plays a huge role in understanding how and why this income happened!

Since launching, I have had 1,384 sessions on my new blog!

Traffic Sources For Beginner Blog

Below is a breakdown of where my traffic came from:

  • Organic Social – 994
This was by far my largest traffic source, and it’s almost entirely due to Pinterest! If you’re a blogger or thinking about starting a blog, Pinterest is huge for driving traffic to your site!
  • Direct – 379
I’m going to be so real… Most of these are me checking how the site looks and making sure everything is working. Some of these visits also came from friends and family checking out the blog.
  • Referral – 8
Most of this traffic came from my email list! While it’s still small, it was encouraging to see people clicking through to my content.
  • Organic Search – 3
Three might not sound like a lot, but for Google to already be pushing out my blog posts is honestly amazing. It shows me that my SEO efforts are starting to work, even this early on!

Blog Expenses

To keep things transparent, I also want to briefly go over my blog expenses. Since this is still a newer blog, most of my costs are related to tools that help me run, grow, and maintain everything behind the scenes.

Monthly Expenses

  • Kit (Email Service): $42
Used to manage my email list and send out blog updates and resources.
  • Tailwind (Pinterest Scheduler): $55
Helps schedule Pinterest content, though I’m currently debating keeping this since Pinterest now has its own native scheduler.
  • Teachable (Course Platform): $95
The platform I use to host and sell my digital courses.

Yearly Expenses

  • Canva: $120/year
Used for everything—blog graphics, workbooks, Pinterest pins, product design… literally everything.
  • Keywords Everywhere (SEO Tool): $65/year
Helps with keyword research and SEO planning.
  • Bluehost (Website Hosting): $393/year Covers my website hosting and domain management.

Although I am spending way more in expenses monthly than I am making currently, I know that this is an investment for my blog’s growth and my online business!

After putting blogging on the back burner for years, seeing even this small amount of income is so encouraging to me and proves to me I’m doing the right thing!

I’ve already learned so much in these past two months since I launched my blog. Most importantly, I’ve learned that progress and consistency is always better than striving for perfection!

There is still so much to learn and build, and I know this blog will evolve with me over time. I am so excited to share my journey through these blogging income reports and my posts with you.

If you’ve been debating starting a blog, I truly can’t recommend it enough, no matter what your goals are. And if you’re interested in budgeting, personal growth, or building a life you love, you can explore my blog posts or join my email list to follow along!
